I am a lot like your friend. I write everything from intense romance to smut, but I want none of it in real life. I think it plays like a movie in my mind more than anything, and it really is the characters as opposed to myself wanting anything along those lines. It is funny to talk to my readers who imaaaagine me as the characters though! I just giggle and shake my head. They won't get it. So being a writer is being a writer to me, and life is so much different!! Does this help?
