I know! That poor woman! I gathered (from the thread in the original post from which I yoinked the link) that the woman got strep and something else, resulting in a really bad, really contagious bacterial infection--so she was basically given the choice between death and amputation. But the fact that they won't reveal the full story because it would violate the privacy of another patient... that really makes it sound like they just accidentally swapped charts or something, which is horrifying.
Hehehe... oh, Darwin. He did have ten children, so I bet he wouldn't be hesitant to get down on an island with a mysterious stranger.
