Snow Picspam!

It's been snowing all day, and I love it (though I would have loved it more in December). As soon as I got home from work, I put on the snowshoes, grabbed the digital camera, and tromped into the backyard to take a few pics. Damn good thing I wore the snowshoes, too, because I would have been ass-deep in a matter of minutes. It's drifted pretty high in places.

Anyway.



Here is Wilhelmina, the frosted mini-sheep. They've mostly been hanging out in their little three-sided shed, but they ventured out to say hello to me and were promptly coated with snow. And the best part is, they don't even seem to care. In the pic below, Minnie has about an inch of ice on her ears, and she was just standing out there, chewing her cud. I half expected to hear her quote Catherine Tate: "Am I bovvered?"



"Look at my face. Do I look bovvered? No, because I ain't bovvered!"



Here is the very very backyard, behind the big shed. I absolutely adore that tree in the foreground. It is this bizarre, twisted little thing; I have no idea what kind of tree it is. The sheep are chewing the bark a bit, so I think I'm going to string some chicken wire around it come spring. Mother will probably make fun of me for this, but I'd hate to see that fugly little tree die.

And finally, a self-portrait. Lookit my frosted pigtails! Also, three cheers for the scarf damn_tatterhood made me. It is delightfully warm.

Yay for ridiculous amounts of snow! and you and your sheepies are SO adorable. I wish we had snow, just crazyass wind advisories and tornado watches all morning.

I wish I could look forward to work getting canceled. Mom and Ethan got to sleep in today because the schools were all shut down, but I had to drag my ass into Target at 7 am... and the most ridiculous part was that it was actually BUSY. You'd think the snow would have kept people in, but it was about normal, guest-wise. Ugh.

We had a snow day here in Wisconsin. I actually woke up and got ready for school before finding this out, because our computer and televisions weren't working. So I got to go back to bed and I slept until 11:00.

We had a snow day here, too... at least, my mom, dad, and little brother did. I still had to haul my sorry ass into work, since neither rain, nor hail, nor sleet, nor snow will stop idiots from shopping.

EVIL! so it was like business as usual? in St. Louis with that kind of weather there'd be.....crazy rushes to the stores to get salt and whatnot and stock uo on groceries. But then people here just freak out at the first sign of flurries.

I think the reactionaries who had to BUY MORE SHOVELS OMG combined with the cautious WE CANT DRIVE IN THIS OR WE'LL DIIIEEE people caused business to just even out where it normally does. :P But it was pretty slow in food, which is always a good thing.

The scarf seriously rocks my world. I wear it daily. Then again, this is the first scarf I've ever had that was like, "RAA, I AM A SCARF AND I'M NOT SCARED TO SAY SO!" All my previous scarves have been tiny little things best tucked into my coat, and not all that warm.

You know, I think the tree would love to come to Atlanta. :P I looked it up online, and I'm about 90% certain that it's a Sassafrass. Only here's the range map, and it doesn't even TOUCH Minnesota! Heck, they're not even in Iowa! Given the bizarre leaf-shape, I don't know what else it could be, but it's way the hell out of its range if it IS a Sassafrass. Mom says the roots should smell like root beer, so there's something to check for come spring. :P

ahh, that would make sense. For some reason I read the WE CAN'T DRIVE IN THIS OR WE'LL DIIEEE in a Galaxy Quest voice. like the Thermians being all...okay never mind. I'm out of it. XD But hooray for having a slow day in food! I guess people are too busy thinking about MORE SHOVELS to be hungry. they're running on adrenaline.
