Boredom is a dangerous thing
Jan. 8th, 2007 04:28 pmI had nothing to do at work today, so I decided to teach myself to sing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" backwards. You might be saying, "But, Carrie, you already KNOW how to sing it backwards!" Well, yes, I know how to sing it mostly backwards, with the melody flipped and the words in reverse order... but I decided I wanted to sing it totally backwards, as in even the words themselves are flipped.
I've been practising for hours, and I almost have it down. I keep getting caught up on "gently," which isn't the easiest thing to sing backwards. Eeltnej. Come to think of it, "row" is kind of tricky as well. But I'm going to get it down, and it's going to sound freaky as fuck when I sing it. Muahahahaaa.
In other news, a month or two ago, I got the theme song to a largely forgotten cartoon stuck in my head. I'm not sure what prompted it... probably a neural misfiring, since I literally had not thought of this show in thirteen years, at least. But the theme song was in my head, and it was driving me insane because I couldn't remember much of the words or anything, nor did I have anything but the vaguest idea of the show's premise.
But I googled the one bit of lyrics I remembered, and dude, I FOUND IT.
Did anyone else out there in LJ land ever watch this?
Even if you didn't, at least you can now appreciate the private HELL of having that theme running through one's fevered brain.
