I don't believe I mentioned it here, since my life was being devoured by a Rodgers & Hammerstein musical, but my older brother is about to embark on an adventure.

Specifically, he is participating in the 2011 Mototaxi Junket in Peru. It involves driving a ridiculous contraption through rough terrain, raising money for worthy charities, and (hopefully) not dying in the process.

He and his friend, Peter, have a team blog on the Junket's website. If you'd like to follow their progress, or even donate, you can do so there. I know money is tight, but they really are great charities--and as a bonus, donations of certain amounts will earn you prizes, a la Kickstarter. The lowest amount gets you a photograph print of your choice, and my brother takes some mighty fine photographs with his fancy camera.

Regardless of whether or not you can (or are willing to) donate, send good vibes his way, if you please. It will not be the safest of adventures, and I'd like him to come home alive and in one piece. He owes me a framed photograph, after all.

comments

I figured it was time I got myself one of these just in case LJ becomes truly intolerable. Sigh.

On the plus side, a new account with settings to tweak! :D

comments
