DUCKLING PICSPAM!

After working their way around the shell, they start to shove their way out.





Push, little duck! That thing on the right is a beak.



Ta-daaa!



The first two ducklings out of their shells take a breather. The darker one is Buzz, the aforementioned duckling that sulked in a corner with its shell over its head. The one behind Buzz is Nibbler, because it nibbles. A lot.



The one with the crazy awesome marbling on his head has no name... yet. Mostly, all we can do is exclaim over how COOL he looks. His feet are crazy and mottled, too, as you shall see.



We also don't have a name for that zonked-out gray one. But here's a shot of that duckling eyeing the camera:







They spend a good deal of time arranging and rearranging themselves into fuzzy little duckpiles.

There were six ducklings cuddled up in the bin when I left, and there are a few more still chilling in their eggs. I'll be back down to the farmstead next weekend to take more pics! And, you know, rub my nose in their downy downy fluff.

Man, am I the only member of my flist who hasn't seen/hasn't read/is generally indifferent towards Watchmen?

... actually, no, I am also generally indifferent. And I haven't seen or read Watchmen. I do hang out around nerds, however, and I like the name because of the double meaning. Sometimes I can be a sucker that way.

(The icon is from a Shortpacked! strip earlier this year, and was my first intro to Rorschach the character. I use it for my Depression Sucks and Fukitol-themed posts because while Rorschach is only a mildly interesting character to me, the image of a meat-cleaver-wielding faceless psycho shouting HOORAY! with happy rainbows and butterflies pretty much sums up my attitude toward mental illness and antidepressants.)
